The Joseph S. Murphy Institute at The City University of New York (CUNY) announces the appointment of Dr. Diane Frey as Project Director of the ALR/China Project. Dr. Frey was Assistant Professor and Director of Labor at the National Labor College prior to joining the Murphy Institute. She is also an adjunct lecturer at the Harvard University Summer School. Her research examines worker rights in comparative perspective and appears in Advances in Industrial and Labor Relations, the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal and the American University of International Law Review as well as in edited volumes published by the ILO and UNESCO.
Prior to her academic career, Diane had extensive field experience including working with the Transport and General Workers Unions (TGWU) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) on cross-national campaigns and representing and collaborating with low-paid immigrant workers.
Dr. Frey received a PhD in International Comparative Employment Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
"I'm very excited about the ALR/China Project and look forward to working with our many colleagues in China and across the United States," said Dr. Frey. "Our new Project website will act as a resource for educators, students and industry professionals interested in exploring the current state of the field of labor relations. I hope you will find the website useful and will share your comments and questions with me and my staff."
